Department of B. Sc. (IT)
The Department of Information Technology (Under Graduate) was established in the year 2001and subsequently, the Postgraduate course MSc-IT started in the year 2005 with an aim to make the students employable and impart industry-oriented training. The main objectives of the courses are –
To think analytically, creatively and critically in developing robust, extensible and highly maintainable technological solutions to simple and complex problems.
To apply their knowledge and skills to be employed and excel in IT professional careers and to continue their education in IT and related postgraduate programmes.
To adhere to the highest standards of ethics, including relevant industry and organizational codes of conduct.
We have opted for new elective subjects from the syllabus designed by Mumbai University so that students can stand in the IT industry with confidence. Learning and Teaching new technological subjects is the biggest achievement of Dept. Staff. Staff members and students are playing important role in the Intercollegiate festival “Vartakite Bits” organized by Self finance courses of Vartak College.
Many of our students are placed in leading companies like L& T, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Deloitte. And some of our students have even gone out of India via their current company. Few of our students have set up their new startups.

Achievements
Students
- From the batch 2021-22 total TEN(10) students are placed in Deloitte IT Company.
- Kesarwani Amit,Gupta Nilesh, Bhoir Jui, Jha Ritu, Sule Santosh (A.Y. 2020-21) got selected from total 17,000 participants all over Mumbai for 2nd round of interview conducted by SEED Infotech in collaboration with Mumbai university.
- Saurabh Negi was awarded with “Best In Turn out” Cadet in NCC in 2018-19
- Ms. Karishma Sawant (SYIT) won Bronze medal(Skit and Drama section) in Yuva Mahotsav conducted by University of Mumbai. In Year 2018. She also won silver and bronze medal in year 2017.
