Department of History
Department in function since 1971.
First Head of Department: Mr Regin D’silva.
Current Head of the Department: Mr Dipak Kolu Valvi.
Mission and Objective:-
- To inculcate a passion for History subject amongst the learner so as to make them conscious of their development.
- To enable them to have the value of nationalism and modernism.
- To impart quality education in history.
- To create interest to opt for history as a major subject at a higher level.
- To make the student creative and research-oriented.
- To improve a platform for the student to exhibit their talent and creativity.
Overall personality development by enabling students to acquire the historical knowledge and understanding of historical events by teaching students effectively.
Department offers UG and PG courses also.
The syllabus gets updated once in five years to help the students to meet and understand the changing dimensions of the technology. Industry-oriented related tools and technologies make them employable.

Attained Workshop on Indian Numismatics. Worked as chairperson of DLLE committee for 4 years. As well as a member of various committees of college.
- Sudhir B. Saindane( M.A.,B.Ed.,SET,NET & M.Phil): Completed 4 Years at Vartak College, presented 2 research papers in international Conference, 3 Papers at National Conference. Worked as content Writer for SNDT University. Worked as a paper setter of Mumbai university. Attended many workshops. Presently teaching at UG and PG level.

Ed. and currently pursuing a PhD in History from the Department of History, University of Mumbai. working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at the Anna Saheb Vartak College, Vasai for the last five years. participated and presented a research paper in the Seminar, National and international Conference.
