About BMS and BBI Department

The BMS and BBI Department provides courses to undergraduate students in the field of Management as well as Banking & Insurance to enable them to choose a career in these professional fields.

Both BMS and BBI are three year full time degree courses designed and conducted as per the guidelines of University of Mumbai.

Achievements

Staff

Prof Bhavana Chauhan: (Mcom, Mphil, NET, JRF), has authored books (31) on BMS and BBI Subjects for various universities as well published research papers in various conferences over the past 12 years. She has received Outstanding research paper Awards for National as well as International Conferences organizedby Mumbai University. She has also conducted viva voce examinations as an external examiner for TYBMS and TYBBI. She has also conducted faculty interviews as a Subject Expert for GG College of Commerce, Vasai.

Dr. Abhilasha Magar: has authored books (25) for three universities on BMS, BBI, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY and MATHEMATICS subjects over the past 12 years as well as published research papers in various national and international journals and some of them published in approved journals by UGC. She has also conducted viva  examinations as an external examiner for TYBMS and TYBBI. College conferred with the best teacher award in 2013. Also involved in social activities with international NGO AACI as zonal president.

CA Amar Madia: Achieved 4th Rank in University of Mumbai in B.com. He has authored a book on Indirect Tax for TYBMS. He has also conducted viva voce examinations as an external examiner for TYBMS and TYBBI.

Ms. Shruti Arekar: She has qualified NET in subjects of Commerce in 2021 and Management in 2015. Also holds a qualification of Masters in Commerce and Masters in Management Studies both from University of Mumbai.

Ms. Jeenal Gandhi: She qualified MH SET (Commerce) in 2018. She also holds a degree in  Masters in Commerce from University of Mumbai, Diploma in Human Resource Management as well as Post Graduation Diploma in Event Management.

Ms. Snehal R. Raut: holds a qualification of Masters in Management Studies from University of Mumbai. She also conducted various activities from BMS students such as Tree Plantation and Best out of Waste (by using Reuse / Recycle Method), and Website development from TYBMS (Marketing) Students.

Ms. Dipti Patil: has qualified CBSE-UGC-NET (July 2018) in Subject Commerce conducted by CBSE UGC and also qualified MH-SET (January 2018) in Commerce conducted by Pune University. She has also completed her M. Com. (Advance Accountancy) and B.M.S. from Mumbai University.

Mr. Sairam Iyer: has qualified for MH SET (Economics) in 2021. He has also qualified UGC NET (Economics) for Assistant Professorship in 2021.

Students

Academic Year 2016 – 17:
During the academic year 2016 – 17, students of BMS & BBI Department participated & won prizes in competition at University Level, Junior State Level & Inter College Festival.
Ms. Sayali Patil & Priya Bhagate from FYBMS secured 1st Prize in Fruit Making Competition
Ms.Swarali Gavali secured 4th Prize in University Level Long Jump & 2nd Prize in Relay at University Level.
Ms. Aishwaraya Kale from SYBBI was a Quarter Finalist in Kabaddi in Junior State Level.
Mr. Rajat Jain & Mr. Suraj Mishra from TYBMS secured 1st Prize in Debate competition at Intercollege Vartak – Bits,
Mr. Subodh Gond also secured 1st Prize in Logo Quiz at Inter College Vartak Kite – Bits.
Ms. Madhura Girdhar from SYBMS was crowned as Miss Vartak Kite – Bits.

Academic Year 2017 – 18:
Ms. Madhura Girdhar secured 2nd Prize in one act play (Marathi) & 3rd Prize in Skit (Hindi)
Ms. Madhura Girdhar of BMS Department has been honoured with Golden Girl Award at 50th Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival Organized by University Mumbai for the academic year 2017 -18
Ms. Sana Shaikh of Class FYBBI secured 2nd Prize in the Mehandi Competition Organized by the Cultural Association of Annasaheb Vartak College.

Academic Year 2018 – 19:
Mr. Rajan Shukla from TYBBI was awarded Best Library User Award.

Academic Year 2019 – 20:

Ms. Vibha Patil, Mr. Siddhant Jadhav, Mr. Dhanesh Pared, Mr. Krutik Hawara, Mr. Rohan Acharya, Mr. Nihar Patil, Mr. Pratik Kadam, Mr. Vicky Chauhan  had participated in Step up (group) organized by Thakur Institute of Management Studies & Research.
